DTN COMMENTS: Formula totals for last week: KS 71,532(-4,348), NE 50,204(-
2,275), TX 74,668(+7,176). Total trade volume: KS 82,372(+4,888), NE
68,735(-1,228), TX 79,459(+11,487). New showlists appear to be lower in all
major feeding areas again this week. Bids and asking prices have yet to be
established, and significant trade volume will likely be delayed until the
second half of the week.
Beef cutouts are higher at midday (Choice 368.86 +2.09, Select 352.92 +2.65),
with light box movement (21.23 lds of choice cuts, 5.89 lds of select cuts,
0.00 lds of trim, and 14.25 lds of ground). At the top of the noon hour live
cattle contracts are sharply higher, while feeder issues are mixed, mostly
lower.
