DTN COMMENTS:  Cash cattle country is quiet at midday, with bids and 
asking prices not established. Significant trade volume will likely be 
delayed until Wednesday or later. Just a handful of live trade was 
reported by Mandatory yesterday in Kansas at $233, and a few dressed 
cattle were sold in Iowa at $362, but certainly not enough business to 
establish any kind of an accurate trend for the week. 

Beef cutouts are higher at midday (choice 358.02 +0.91, select 359.04 
+0.99) with moderate to good box movement (61.65 lds of choice cuts, 4.78 
lds of select cuts, 18.96 lds of trim, and 7.78 lds of ground). Live 
cattle futures are sharply lower near the top of the noon hour, while 
feeder issues are sharply to significantly higher at this time.
