Weekly Beef Export Sales 12/12 07:35
Hides and Skins: Net sales of 255,000 pieces for 2024 were down 1 percent
from the previous week and 32 percent from the prior 4-week average.
Increases primarily for China (192,900 whole cattle hides, including
decreases of 14,300 pieces), South Korea (29,500 whole cattle hides,
including decreases of 1,300 pieces), Taiwan (14,800 whole cattle hides,
including decreases of 1,000 pieces), Mexico (10,400 whole cattle hides,
including decreases of 7,300 pieces), and Japan (3,400 whole cattle
hides), were offset by reductions for Indonesia (300 pieces) and Vietnam
(100 pieces). In addition, total net sales of 1,000 kip skins were for
Japan. Net sales of 41,300 pieces for 2025 were reported for China (27,900
whole cattle hides) and South Korea (13,400 whole cattle hides). Whole
cattle hides exports of 295,800 pieces were down 27 percent from the
previous week and 24 percent from the prior 4-week average. The
destinations were primarily to China (206,500 pieces), South Korea (29,300
pieces), Mexico (22,500 pieces), Thailand (17,900 pieces), and Brazil
(8,400 pieces).
Net sales of 68,300 wet blues for 2024 were down 58 percent from the
previous week and 24 percent from the prior 4-week average. Increases
reported for Thailand (55,500 unsplit, including decreases of 1,400 grain
splits and 100 unsplit), Brazil (10,000 unsplit), Taiwan (5,100 unsplit),
Vietnam (1,200 unsplit, including decreases of 100 unsplit), and Argentina
(200 unsplit), were offset by reductions for Italy (2,000 unsplit) and
Hong Kong (100 unsplit). Net sales of 158,300 unsplit for 2025 reported
for Vietnam (64,300 unsplit), China (52,000 unsplit), and Thailand (44,000
unsplit), were offset by reductions for Brazil (2,000 unsplit). In
addition, total net sales of 1,400 grain splits were for Thailand. Exports
of 123,300 wet blues were down 3 percent from the previous week and 8
percent from the prior 4-week average. The destinations were primarily to
Vietnam (70,400 unsplit), Thailand (18,500 unsplit), China (9,600
unsplit), Brazil (5,900 unsplit and 2,000 grain splits), and Italy (7,200
unsplit). Total net sales of 112,900 splits were for Vietnam. No exports
of splits were reported for the week.
Beef: Net sales of 11,000 MT for 2024 were up noticeably from the
previous week and up 32 percent from the prior 4-week average. Increases
primarily for South Korea (3,400 MT, including decreases of 900 MT), Japan
(3,400 MT, including decreases of 300 MT), Mexico (1,400 MT), Canada (800
MT), and China (700 MT, including decreases of 100 MT), were offset by
reductions for the Philippines (100 MT) and El Salvador (100 MT). Net
sales of 5,400 MT for 2025 were primarily for Japan (3,000 MT), South
Korea (1,500 MT), the Philippines (200 MT), Taiwan (200 MT), and China
(200 MT). Exports of 15,100 MT were up 5 percent from the previous week,
but down 1 percent from the prior 4-week average. The destinations were
primarily to South Korea (4,500 MT), Japan (2,900 MT), China (2,200 MT),
Mexico (1,800 MT), and Taiwan (1,300 MT).
Pork: Net sales of 22,500 MT for 2024 were down 36 percent from the
previous week and 1 percent from the prior 4-week average. Increases
primarily for Mexico (9,100 MT, including decreases of 300 MT), Japan
(4,500 MT, including decreases of 500 MT), China (2,700 MT, including
decreases of 100 MT), Colombia (2,000 MT, including decreases of 100 MT),
and South Korea (1,000 MT, including decreases of 600 MT), were offset by
reductions for Australia (300 MT). Net sales of 4,600 MT for 2025
primarily for South Korea (2,400 MT), Japan (1,100 MT), Canada (500 MT),
Mexico (300 MT), and Honduras (200 MT), were offset by reductions for
China (500 MT). Exports of 33,800 MT were up 5 percent from the previous
week and 10 percent from the prior 4-week average. The destinations were
primarily to Mexico (14,700 MT), South Korea (3,900 MT), Japan (3,700 MT),
China (3,100 MT), and Australia (2,000 MT).
